Child Care FAQ
What are your rates?
We use a sliding fee scale schedule of rates for child care and preschool. Not all of our programs charge fees. Please contact Esther (360-795-8612) for more information.
What is the oldest age my child can be and still enroll in child care?
By law, we can serve children in licensed child care only through age 12. We often do have out of school programs available for older youths. Please check with us.
Do you have bus service?
We provide bus service for children in the ECEAP program. Bus service is also provided for kindergarten children.
What are your school policies?
Available in our Parent Handbook which you will receive when you enroll your child.
Are meals provided?
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) provides funding for meals for our child care and preschool programs through the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This program is administered by the Office of Public Instruction. The CACFP is a federal program that provides healthy meals and snacks at no additional charge.
May my child bring food from home?
If your child has allergies or needs special kinds of foods, please talk with our Food Services Supervisor (Becca). She will be happy to work with you.
Are you equipped for a child with special needs?
We are fully handicapped accessible including the outdoor play space. We also offer child care and individual classroom lesson plans for children with special needs. We work with ESD 112 and Progress Center to provide children with the best chance to succeed.
Do you potty train?
We will help you with the potty-training process.
May my child bring toys?
Please do not send toys with your child. We provide many fun toys.

Job Listings
(No open positions at this time)
SJFC has 26 paid positions. Approximately half of these are full time. Our pay scale is comparable to similar jobs in remote rural areas, but the benefit package offered is equal to or better than most for similar positions. We invite applicants who have early childhood education credits and experience, family support credits or credentials, and domestic violence or sexual assault counseling education or experience. We also offer entry level positions in early childhood education for those willing to pursue courses in this field at any of the nearby college campuses.
All paid staff and volunteers must complete a Washington State Criminal History and background check. Please contact us if you are interested in applying
